Kerry Richman-Connors, M.S., CCC-SLP

Clinic Director / Owner

Kerry holds a Masters of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology and a Bachelors of Science degree in Teaching of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped, and a Minor in Spanish from Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York.  Prior to acquiring KidSpeak, Inc. Kerry worked for the Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center with the pediatric, adolescent,  and adult populations.

Kerry acquired KidSpeak, Inc. and has been operating it since 2001.  She started out in 2001 with just herself and has grown the practice to serving families in the Charlotte community both in the clinic, preschools, daycares, schools, and some homes.  Kerry enjoys working with children of all ages and a variety of speech and language issues. Her special interest areas are early language development, language disorders, feeding,  motor speech difficulties, childhood apraxia of speech, cleft palate, sensory integration dysfunction, Down syndrome, Autism, and language processing.  Kerry is a certified Hanen Speech Language Pathologist that offers a family-focused program for parents of children who are in need of language development.  Kerry is also PROMPT trained.   Kerry is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Audiology and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

When Kerry is not at KidSpeak, Inc. she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 energetic children, Thomas, Emily, and Eric, as well as running and traveling.

Julie Rabon Kremer, M.A. CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Julie Rabon Kremer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from East Carolina University and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology from Appalachian State University.

Julie began her career at KidSpeak, Inc. treating pediatric clients with speech-language related disorders in 2008 and has been instrumental in providing services at four private school locations in Charlotte (Charlotte Christian, Charlotte Jewish Day School, Charlotte Jewish Preschool, St. Gabriel’s Catholic School), in addition to seeing clients at this office.

Julie has had experience with children, adolescents and adults. She enjoys working with children of all ages and a variety of disabilities. Her special interest areas are articulation, early language development, language disorders, phonemic awareness, literacy, augmentative communication, autism, language processing and fluency. Julie is trained in PROMPT technique which is often used with kids with motor speech difficulties.

When she isn’t working, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, going to the movies, listening to live music, cooking, gardening, riding motorcycles and planning her October 2015 wedding.

Margaret Knott, M.A. CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Margaret Knott received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from West Virginia University in 1977 and her Master of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1979.  She has been a LSLS Certified Auditory Verbal Therapist since August 2005.  Margaret is also trained in NeuroDevelopmental Therapy (pediatrics).  She has worked in the public school system, private practice, and early intervention.  She has taught as a part time instructor with Central Piedmont Community College in the Early Childhood Program and as an adjunct professor at Lenoir Rhyne University in the school of Education, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program.  Margaret is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Audiology, holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and is a LSLS Certified Auditory Verbal Therapist through the AGBell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language.

Margaret’s professional areas of interest include Auditory Verbal Therapy for children with hearing loss, oral motor/feeding, motor speech disorders (apraxia, dysarthria), and speech and language development in the pediatric population.

When not at work Margaret enjoys traveling, reading, and time with family and friends.

Caroline Colson, MA, CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Caroline graduated from Eastern Michigan University with her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Speech Language Pathology. After graduation, she moved to Charlotte. She has experience working with preschool to middle school aged children with a variety of communication disorders. Caroline enjoys writing, traveling and cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Theresa Moritz, MS, CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Theresa Moritz is a graduate of West Virginia University and received her Masters Degree at UNC Chapel Hill, class of 1992.  Since her graduation, Theresa has worked almost exclusively with preschool and school age children in a variety of clinical settings.  She has received training in PROMPT, Fast Forward, Therapeutic Listening, and Orton Gillingham. Theresa loves working with all types of disorders in children and sees each as an amazing puzzle to solve. She has three boys of her own, and when not driving carpool, she loves running, yoga, traveling, and painting.

Lori Marullo, MA,CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Lori Marullo received her Bachelors degree from Nazareth College of Rochester in Rochester, New York. She received her Masters degree from the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. She has experience working in public schools, where she helps children communicate more effectively in their classrooms. In her free time, Lori enjoys running, baking, traveling, and reading.

Lauren Hachen, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Lauren Hachen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communication sciences & disorders and a Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Appalachian State University. Lauren has experience with children, adolescents and adults with a variety of disorders. Her areas of professional interest include preschool and school age language disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation, Autism Spectrum Disorder and language processing.

Hollie G. Bowling, M.S. CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Hollie holds a M.A. in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State University and a B.A. in Communication with emphasis in speech and hearing sciences from UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to working at Kidspeak, Hollie has worked in early intervention settings (homes, preschools), private practice, and in the elementary school setting, working mostly with pediatric clients as well as serving adult clientele with fluency challenges and those working on accent reduction.

Hollie enjoys working with children of various ages who have speech and language needs, and her areas of interest include early language development and literacy, articulation/phonological disorders, language processing, fluency, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and facilitating Spanish/English language development for the Latino community. Hollie is licensed by the North and South Carolina Boards of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

Hollie enjoys travelling with her husband, cuddling with their cat Kona, time with family and friends; church ministry and volunteering; outdoor activities (hiking, biking, canoeing); reading, crafts, fashion, movies, and music.

Kristin Sproule, M.S. CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Kristin completed her undergraduate education at Appalachian State University and after an almost ten year career in marketing, decided to pursue her graduate degree in communication sciences and disorders at Western Carolina University. She has been practicing since 2011.

Kristin has worked in a variety of settings including schools, preschools, in homes and in clinics. Her areas of professional interest include early literacy development, preschool and school-age speech and language disorders, pediatric fluency, and working with families. Kristin currently provides services for several charter schools in the Charlotte area with KidSpeak and enjoys collaborating with students, teachers, and parents to achieve speech and language goals.

Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband, toddler and dog. Together they enjoy family time, exploring Charlotte and beyond, and getting together with family and friends.

Mary Jane Van Lanen

Office Manager

Mary Jane graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a degree in Economics.  At KidSpeak, Inc. she fields all phone calls, schedules appointments, and verifies health insurance benefits and a variety of other tasks to help keep our clinic organized.  When she is not working she enjoys walking with friends, traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

Vicki Huskey

Office Administration

Having spent 30++ years in administrative/office management, Vicki has spent the past 12 years as an independent contractor specializing in pediatric therapy practice insurance and private billing and liaison direct with insurance companies. Vicki has been the billing specialist with KidSpeak since 2004 as well as several other practices in the Charlotte area. She also is bookkeeper/office administrator for a well-known international artist who resides here in Charlotte.

Married to her husband Darrel, for 26 years, Vicki came to Charlotte from Southern California.  Darrel and Vicki have recently become first-time grandparents of a very special little girl, Ava.
